Reno SCCA - Solo (Autocross) Round 7

Regional Public Safety Training Cen

About this event

Reno SCCA - 2024 Season
Solo (Autocross) - Round 7
Saturday - June 29, 2024

Come join us for Round 7 of the Reno SCCA Solo autocross season! Reno SCCA Solo Events at the Regional Public Safety Training Center have two run groups with a 15-20 minute break in between. Registration limit is 70 drivers (not including Solo team) due to the small site and limited grid space.

If it is your first time driving in an autocross event, sign up as a "Novice" and let us know in person so we can help you learn the sport!

Check out Reno SCCA live timing (renoscca.live) and our Facebook page and group (Reno SCCA) for latest details, news, and to chat with other community members!

EVENT ENTRY FEES
SCCA Members:  $40.00
Weekend Membership (required for non-SCCA members): $15.00

Note: Online registration is highly recommended to streamline the check-in process. We are limiting the RPSTC registration to 70 drivers (not including Solo team). We accept walk-in registrations, but only take cash and are unable to process credit cards on-site. If online attendance is capped, only certain past highly-regular Reno Solo drivers may have walk-in registration.

LOCATION

Reno Regional Public Safety Training Center
5190 Spectrum Blvd #3903, Reno, Nevada, 89512
Entrance to the skidpad is past a gate on a small road east of the south parking lot. There will be a person available to open the gate.

Spectators - The primary spectator area is between the skidpad south-end concrete barriers and the RPSTC building. It is required spectators remain outside the "hot areas" (course, grid, roads connecting grid) unless the waiver form is signed. With waiver signed, spectators may enter the grid area, but cannot travel to and from grid area while an event is active without guidance from a regular Solo member due to moving cars. Children 12 years of age or younger are NOT allowed in "hot" areas.

Event requirements

Please note the following items before attending a Reno SCCA Solo event.

Preparation

If you are relatively new to autocross or a first-time, please let us know at the event! We will find a mentor to help you with the event and teach autocross.

Please obey all public road laws and speed limits around the event site.

All drivers in the event must be registered and checked-in before Registration closes. Any late check-ins will NOT be accepted for the rest of the event once the Drivers meeting begins. No-shows are NOT eligible for a refund. Minors (under age 18) are required to have parent or guardian present to sign parental consent waiver.

All cars must pass a basic tech inspection to ensure the safety of the driver, course workers, and others at the event. Items include, but are not limited to, secured driver's seat, seat belts, battery positive terminal covered, well-function brakes and steering, tight wheel lug nuts, and no fluid leaks. We encourage you to bring your own helmet if it is SA2010 or M2010 rating or newer. Other accepted helmet ratings are listed on the SCCA Solo website. We have a limited number of loaner helmets available on a first-come first-served basis. All drivers must wear closed-toe shoes due to safety requirements and work assignments.

All drivers must attend the Drivers Meeting at 9am. Novice drivers will receive supplemental instruction on counting cone penalties.

Our event may run as late as 3pm (or even later). Many of our event days are in the sunlight with high temperatures. We do provide free water to hydrate, however there are limited food and drinks available on-site (may be available via inside training center building). Please prepare accordingly for a day outdoors, including food, water, shade items, sunscreen and other necessities of being in the sun.

Driver-on-Course Safety

Drivers are expected to have a full understanding of their vehicle’s functionality and must always be in full control. In the event the driver doubts to be in control or the vehicle is out of control, the driver must immediately shut down their run and bring their vehicle to a full stop. The driver may then rejoin the course to finish the run or proceed directly and safely to the finish. If the driving endangers the course workers, is not in the spirit of Solo, or is deemed unsafe by the Solo Director, Event Chairman, or a Solo Safety Steward, the driver will be given a warning or disqualified from the event without warning. If disqualified, the driver will no longer be allowed any further runs for the event.

Worker Assignments

To keep entry costs low, drivers in the event are required to be course workers on the opposite run group. Any drivers that skip working the course will have their competition points disqualified for the event and may NOT be allowed to enter in future events until resolved with the Solo Team. If you are unable to stay for the entire duration of the event, please consider a different event date.

If unable to perform a standard work assignment for the day, please contact a member of a Solo team and we may be able to make an arrangement. Please note special arrangements are not possible during events with lower attendance.
